Come, raise a glass, and join us in celebrating Braighlee's artistic journey and her first ever solo showing of her body of work. This event promises to be a night filled with joy, inspiration, and unforgettable memories.
ABOUT BRAIGHLEE
As the grandchild of a painter and make-up artist, Braighlee has almost always considered herself to be creative and have colors run through her veins. Braighlee Rainey grew up in the mountains near Lake Tahoe with inspiration all around. She pursued graphic design for almost 10 years of her life before following her passion of painting, one of the first art loves of her life. She is mostly self taught, however in the spring of 2022 she studied painting the portrait under two world renowned artists in Rome, Italy then graduated from a year long, online program, from the Milan Art Institute that summer. She started painting full time summer of 2022 and has been selling her work online to collectors all across the United States. Braighlee is now based in Reno, Nv running her online business and her work is now being shown in beautiful local spaces.
Braighlee is an emerging artist painting feminine abstract-realism portraits and figures using oil paints and other various materials such as charcoal, ink, collage and gold leaf. She is inspired by artists such as Dorielle Caimi, Georgia O’Keeffe, Shana Levenson, and Jenny Saville. The feminine portrait and figure inspire her and her view of the female figure comes from the feminine gaze, challenging the masculine view of women in history, especially historically male painters, with the feminine subject. She is an artist member at Sierra Arts Foundation, and we're welcoming her in for her first solo show.
