Reno World Dance

World Dance Open Floor started in 2004 in a quaint little coffee shop in Carson City, NV called Comma Coffee. Starr Nixdorf, the mirthful mistress of the microphone, hosted the show once a month and was constantly focusing on non-profit organizations where performers would dance for donations and help raise awareness of all the great causes in our community. Starr herself is a seasoned belly dancer and so her vision was to showcase the dances of cultures around the world. This event has since been a platform to any and all family friendly talent. There have been musicians, poets, magicians, flow artists, acro-yogis, comedians and ALL genres of dancers sharing the World Dance Open Floor stage. We invite anyone and everyone with a special talent to sign up, perform and share the stage for a very magical evening of entertainment for a worthy cause. Sign up is at 4:30 pm near the stage in Reno Public Market (bring a file of your music on a thumbdrive, no streaming music from a device). We can accommodate up to 12 performances with each talent slot up to 7 minutes long. Show starts promptly at 5:30 pm. See you all at the World Dance Open Floor this summer!
